ABOUT ME

My name is Michael. Born and raised in Amsterdam, I've always been interested in technology and development. Curiously enough, after having studied IT for a few years, I realized that technology is often useless without people, and unfortunately, people are often troubled with technology. Usually, this stems from technology being needlessly complex or having been built for a different audience. Since having come to this realization, I have partially changed my goals. I still pursue technology!—But the development of technology is now mainly focused on the people who will use it.

As a BSc in Business Management Studies, I now work on bridging the gap between technology and people. Usually, this means I function as part of a team and translate technology to business, and vice versa. More often than not, however, that includes actually building tools or interfaces for the team to work with and automating the more tedious tasks.

As a Business Management Studies graduate, I have gained a large amount of experience and insights in various companies, such as ABN AMRO Bank and Titoma Ltd.

Working for these companies has shown me how companies in general work and how they rely on and interact with technology.

By combining this with my experience of building tools, programs, and software–I can seamlessly fit into almost any part of a company.

Making the most of my experience in both technology and business, I hope to one day bring both of them together in a single solid solution.
